FREQUENT QUESTIONS
What is your definition of wellness?
Health is a part of wellness, but wellness goes far beyond our definition of health. It is comprised of different subtle bodies that, together, work to make you holistically well. Just a few involved in true wellness include:
Physical ~ The physical means caring for your body in ways that help it be healthy now as well as in the future.
Intellectual ~ The intellectual deals with growing yourself intellectually and maintaining a curiosity about all that there is to learn in the world. Engaging this means valuing lifelong learning and having a positive response to intellectual challenges. It also means expanding your own knowledge while discovering the potential for sharing what you know with others.
Emotional ~ The emotional wellness regards understanding and respecting your own feelings, values, and attitudes while simultaneously acknowledging and respecting the individual feelings of others. This also includes managing your emotions in a constructive manner and generally feeling positive and enthusiastic about your life.
Social ~ This focuses on maintaining healthy relationships, enjoying spending time around others, and developing both friendships and intimate relationships. This also includes contributing to your community, caring about those around you, and allowing others to care about you in turn.
Spiritual ~ The Spiritual is about finding your purpose and finding value and meaning in your life. While religion can be a tool to meet your spiritual needs, you can explore this without organized religion. This also includes participating in activities that are in line with your beliefs and values.
Do you take insurance?
No, we provide a receipt and you can submit that to your insurance for reimbursement if the treatment is covered.
What do I wear for my session?
Comfortable clothes are best, whatever you prefer.
How long does a session last?
Depending on the treatment, sessions are typically one hour in length. Occasionally extra time is needed.
Do you prescribe medication?
No! If medication management is needed, you would need to consult with your doctor, or a psychiatrist. Instead, we prescribe meditation.
What type of results can be achieved?
The practitioners at Center of Grace have seen their clients improve coping skills, decrease ADHD symptoms, work through traumas, decrease anxiety and depressive symptoms, improve their behaviors, increase academic performance, increase self-esteem, develop positive communication skills, improve family relationships, and find more freedom from health symptoms. Each client is different and works at a different pace. Many times, progress depends on the level of participation by the client.
